Unpacking the Complexity of Evaluating Workplace Wellbeing Initiatives
What is the value of measuring not just if, but how, when and why they can be successful? The session will aim to provide evidence-based insights on identifying and measuring relevant outcomes highlighting impact of workplace wellbeing initiatives, but also, How they produce results (mechanisms or strategies). When is most effective? (timing, conditions, context). Why they work, (underlying principles, motivations or factors). Also discussed is an overview of evaluation frameworks and tools to measure success meaningfully and a case study highlighting the evaluation of a mental health app at a large healthcare organization using an evidence-based framework for a structured understanding and analysis of facilitators and barriers driving its success.

Leadership Workshops
1 - Caregivers Alberta & Canadian Centre for Caregiving Excellence (CCCE)
'The Untapped Workforce Advantage: Supporting Caregivers at Work.' Every organization is searching for an edge in talent retention, productivity and culture. Yet most overlook one of the most significant and fast-growing realities in today’s workforce: employees who are also family caregivers. Nearly 5 million Canadians, or nearly 35% of the workforce, are balancing their jobs with caring for family members, often silently. When workplaces recognize and support them, the results are clear: stronger loyalty, reduced turnover and cultures where people thrive. In this session, Christa Haanstra from the Azrieli Foundation’s Canadian Centre for Caregiving Excellence and Darrel Gregory from Caregivers Alberta will talk about how supporting caregivers can reduce turnover, improve retention and unlock leadership-ready skills like resilience, empathy and project management.

2 - mental fitness IQ
'The Human Experience @Work: Reinventing “how you do” Employee Engagement, Psych Safety and Wellness.' Societies around the world face a pandemic-like employee wellness problem. This is causing a collision of psychologists, consultants, EAP providers and point solution vendors jockeying to gain mindshare with CHROs and business leaders. The thing is, most of what is sold is simply recirculated content and techniques that have been around for years (maybe with a bit of AI added). The results bear this out…employee burnout and disengagement are at all-time highs, with a corresponding impact on productivity, absenteeism and physical safety. mfIQ‘s unique Human Experience @Work model reimagines how organizations “do” employee engagement and wellness - tightly integrating the concepts and driving the process using real time data and analytics. In this session mfIQ’s CEO John Moore will lead a conversation about why current engagement and wellness approaches are not producing results, a practical approach to pivot to a new model and the massive opportunity to rapidly drive ROI

3 - Canadian Mental Health Association Alberta Division and Centre for Suicide Prevention
'Buddy Up and Suicide Prevention in the Workplace.' Join us for an impactful workshop on suicide prevention in the workplace and learn about the Buddy Up campaign. Suicide is a challenging topic and addressing it is essential for a safe and supportive work environment. Buddy Up promotes authentic conversations and reduces stigma around men’s suicide. This workshop will introduce Buddy Up as a strategy to build a suicide-safe workplace. The session will also include an interactive group discussion allowing participants to exchange ideas, ask questions, and collaborate on innovative approaches to enhance workplace suicide prevention efforts. Participants will leave with practical strategies and resources to implement a suicide prevention program in their workplace

Building the Neuroinclusive Workplace
It is estimated that 15-20% of the global population is neurodivergent, meaning that neurodiverse teams already exist in today's workplaces. To align with this reality, how can organizations create inclusive and productive workplaces where neurodivergent employees can thrive? What can organizations do to optimize their workplaces to facilitate wellness and advancement for neurodivergent professionals? Why is it critical for leaders to accept and adopt neuroinclusive practices?
